Kashmiri Dum Kathal

Ingredients:

1/2 kg raw jackfruit

2 big onions

3 cm piece ginger

6 cloves garlic

4 kashmiri chillies

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 bunch coriander leaves

Juice of 1/2 a lime

Salt to taste

Ghee for frying

Method:

Peel and cut jack fruit into cubes.

Chop one onion and grind the other with ginger,garlic,

chillies,garam masala,chilli powder,turmeric powder,

and coriander leaves.

Pressure cook the jack fruit pieces for 15 minutes in a

pressure cooker.Drain and keep aside.

Heat ghee,fry the jack fruit pieces till golden brown on

all sides.Keep aside.

In the same ghee,add chopped onion,ground masala

and fry for a while.

Add jack fruit,salt and one cup of water and simmer

till gravy is thick.

Remove from fire.Mix lime juice.Garnish and serve hot.
