Ingredients:
2 cups vegetables(broad beans,brinjals,drumsticks,cauliflower)
washed and cut into pieces and half cooked
2 tomatoes,chopped
1 1/2 Rice
1 cup Toovar dal
½ cup Tamarind juice
1 tsp Mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
4 tbsps Oil
Roast and Grind
½ of Coconut ,grated
12 Red chilies
2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp Turmeric
2 tbsps Coriander seeds
½ tsp Fenugreek seeds
1 tsp Chana dal
Salt to taste
Method:
Cook rice and toovar dal together with enough water like a gruel.
Heat oil add mustard seeds,cumin seeds when they splutter,add the vegetables,fry
well.
Add tamarind water and grounded masala.
Cook till the masala starts boiling.
Pour over the cooked rice and dal,mix well.Adjust seasoning,if required.
Serve hot with Ghee.
