Ingredients:
200 gms tur dal
100 gms kaddu(pumpkin)
1 onion,chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tej patta(bay leaf)
2 elaichi(cardamoms)
2 lavang(cloves)
1 "piece of dalchini(cinnamon)
1/2 tsp shahi jeera
1/2 tsp jeera(cumin)
1/2 tsp rai(mustard)
2 dry red chillies
few strings of curry patta
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
tamarind-the size of a lime
1/2
tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste
2 tbsp ghee
Method:
Cut the kaddu into pieces.Wash and pressure
cook
the dal till done.
Extract tamarind juice and keep aside.
Heat ghee add the whole garam masala, jeera,rai.Break
and add dry red chillies, add curry patta.saute and add
the kaddu pieces.fry and add the ginger-garlic paste
and
fry well.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.Mix
well and add tamarind juice,boil well.
Add boiled
dal and garam masala powder and required
water.Allow to simmer on low flame for few minutes.
